Why do people wake up at 4 a.m., brave the Madras chill and the delayed downpour to make it on time to The Music Academy to grab some season tickets?
Some, for their NRI friends. Some because the Academy is the best place to catch the best artistes. Some, to be seen and heard.
This morning ( December 2), close to 300 rasikas flooded the lobby to register for the tickets. From Rs.1200 to Rs.12,000 in limited numbers, the tickets were gone within an hour.
Latecomers can remain hopeful if the Academy is a must check for you. Tickets for unreserved seats will be sold the day of the concerts, we hear.
Meanwhile a tip to newbies to the 'season'; some of the morning and noon concerts are great and are free. Look at the Academy's time table closely.
