Radio channel for December Season. Possible?

Prasanna moved away from the December season many years ago. There must have been a personal angle to that move. In the US of A where he resides, he makes his music and leads his life in contentment.

But the native thread does not let him go. So in recent years, he has taken the invite from a few sabhas who provide him the stage for the Season.

A icon in the rock music scene of the city in his younger days, the fans have also checked out his Carnatic music concerts though in small numbers.

He has a few concerts this Season. One was in the early evening on Friday, December 6. For Brahma Gana Sabha at Sivagami Petachi auditorium. 3.45 p.m. is not the slot that this senior artiste deserves.

I would have loved to listen to Prasanna that evening but work held me back, some 400 mts away from the sabha hall.

That is when one felt the need for a dedicated 12x7 broadcast medium for the Season which would be a wow service for thousands of rasikas. With FM available, even the state can try out this service. Even a paid one.

All Tamil TV channels now telecast select concerts. Thanthi TV has launched the series recorded at Bharat Utsav.  Jaya TV was the leader in this space.

Bangalore has a FM channel on AIR ( All India Radio) dedicated to Carnatic music. Why has Chennai, its rasikas and its artistes not demanded one for this city?

The wild idea - run a pirate radio channel in December!
