New dance; from Roja, Priya, Srikanth and Aswathy

Four senior dancers - Roja Kannan, Priya Murle, N Srkanth and Aswathy are presenting a new production "Mathru Devo Bhava" on November 9, at The Music Academy. It will be staged at three other venues during the 'season'.

This production has been funded a scheme of the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India..

Roja Kannan says their production eulogises mothers and motherhood in the Bharatanatyam idiom.

Parashah is a group of like-minded artistes who say they would like to reach out to society through Natya, to communicate and to entertain. An acronym of its members (Priya, Roja, Srikanth and Aswathy) Parashah in Sanskrit means the alchemist's stone.

Their previous productions have been "Bharatha Samudaayam Vaazhgavay", "Meendum Bharathi"' Annaiyay Potri", "Ardhanareeswarar Kuravanji", and "Prapatti Margam".

The production is going to be staged in December -
Dec. 20 at Meenakshi Sunderajan Fest of Dance & Music at Meenakshi College, Kodambakkam. (Time not known yet.)
Dec.21. At Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Festival of Dance at TAG Auditorium in Kilpauk at 7.30pm.
Dec.30. At  RASA Arpita Festival in Bapalal Bhavan. Thiruvanmiyur. 7.30 pm.
